  1. Do I need special cameras and tripod to shoot the photos for my PixMaker Scene?
No, you don't need special cameras. All you need is a digital camera that is capable of taking images at a resolution of at least 640 x 480 pixels. It will be useful to have a tripod but this is not essential.

  2. Can I use photo prints that I have taken with my SLR-based film camera instead of re-taking them using a digital camera?
You can also use a 35mm film camera, but it will involve a little more work, as you'll have to first develop the film and then scan the photo prints into the computer. For best quality, you may want to consider developing the film into Kodak's PhotoCD format, which is supported by PixMaker.

  3. Is PixMaker Pro able to snap images from video frames using a video clip that contains panoramic scenery?
Yes, PixMaker Pro is able to evaluate and capture the best frames from video clips containing panoramic scenery and display them for stitching. However, the video clip must be in 24-bit format.

  4. Instead of snapping images taken around an object, can I snap images from a video clip of an object in motion to create an Object View Scene?
No, it will not be possible at this point in time. We are currently looking into the possibility of developing this feature.

  5. What are the videos formats supported by PixMaker Pro?
    The following formats are supported:
    AVI (.avi)
    MPEG-1 (.mpg, .mpeg)

  6. What are the video codecs supported by PixMaker Pro?
The video codecs supported is dependent on the codecs installed on the system.

  7. One of the images that I have snapped from video is not acceptable. What can I do?
PixMaker Pro will automatically select the best image from the frames that you have marked. However, if the image is not desirable, you can select another frame by clicking on the "Manual Align" button which will allow you to select another frame.

  8. How do I take pictures for a Cylindrical Scene?
The correct way is to stand upright, holding your digital camera with its base or side parallel to the floor. Turn right on the same spot to take a series of shots all around you, overlapping each shot by 30 - 50 percent. Refer to our guide on photo taking for more details.

  9. How do I take pictures for a Flat Scene?
The correct way is to stand upright, holding your digital camera with its base or side parallel to the floor. Maintaining a parallel distance from the scenery, take a series of shots by moving from left to right, overlapping each shot by 30 - 50 percent. Refer to our guide on photo taking for more details.

  10. How many images do I need to take to create a 360° PixMaker Scene?
The number of images you need depends on the field of view (FOV) or the lens used. There isnīt a fixed number. However, the optimum number of images needed to stitch a 360° PixAround Scene is 12.

  11. How many images do I need to take to create a 360° Object View Scene?
There isn't a fixed number. However, the optimum number of images needed to stitch a 360° Object View is 24. Note that the 360° Object View will pan more smoothly if you use more images.
